“My heart breaks every day in a new way - the pieces are held together by undying hope.”
These words are the underlying current that flow through Caitlyn Deviney’s (di-VIN-ee) indie-folk music and felt firsthand by listeners. Caitlyn’s consistently ethereal vocals and memorable melodies accompanied by her bold yet peaceful presence make for experiences laced with connection to humanity, personal struggle, and engagement with all our questions, emotions, hopes and fears.
Striking out to be a full-time musician post-college, Caitlyn participated in two different successful music groups - after touring and performing locally, regionally, and nationally, she always felt that her purpose included not only performing, but curating with intention. What started as monthly potluck music & art sharing events evolved into hosting songwriting retreats, workshops, several backyard concert series, cross-collaborations with other musicians, and eventually, with the support of her community, opening a local live music venue and creative space.
After the pandemic shook the world, Caitlyn pivoted away from the music industry and her music venue dream to manage a local coffee shop. Grieving the death of a dream and trusting that nothing was wasted, she is now reconnecting to the “why” and the foundation of music in her life once again.
Inspired by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Donovan Woods, The Lumineers, Gregory Alan Isakov & Jensen McRae, Caitlyn writes what she lives and seeks to find beauty and common ground with every listener.
